How to delete your CRED account permanently
Short answer
Ask CRED support in the app. Open CRED → More → Support, pick a topic about your account, tap Contact support and ask for the account to be deleted. CRED’s privacy policy says deletion requests go through the app’s support section; it describes no self-serve delete button.
The catch: CRED says it may not be able to delete an account while any of these is open — a dispute, a credit product such as a CRED Cash loan, a CRED Wallet balance, an unresolved claim, or a transaction suspected to be fraudulent. Clear those first. Even after deletion it may keep what it needs for regulatory compliance, fraud prevention and its legal obligations, and your credit report stays with the credit bureaus — deleting CRED does not change it.

Do this first
- In the app
More → Support → (a topic about your account) → Contact support
Ask in writing for the account to be deleted, not deactivated, and keep the chat. - Not resolved? The grievance officer
CRED names Mr Atul Patro as its grievance officer. Escalation is through the grievance redressal button on cred.club/customer-care, and CRED says it needs a support ticket that is open or was resolved in the last 30 days — so do step 1 first. - Chose deactivation and want back in?
CRED’s policy calls deactivation “archival”; you reactivate by writing to support@cred.club.
What CRED deletes, and what it keeps
- Deleted, per CRED’s privacy policy: profile details, card data, reward details, referral data, statement particulars and Google sign-in sessions.
- Kept: information CRED deems necessary for regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, user safety and security, or its legal and contractual obligations.
- Loans: if you took CRED Cash or another credit product, CRED and the lending bank or NBFC may keep data as the law requires while any amount is outstanding, or where fraud is suspected.
- Your credit report is held by the credit bureaus; CRED fetched your credit information from them with your consent. Deleting CRED leaves the bureau’s file as it is.
Deleting the account is not the same as deleting the data
CRED’s own privacy policy, which we read on 2026-08-12, says it may still do the following. Closing your account does not by itself withdraw your consent to these:
- build an advertising profile of you
- share your data with partners
If they ignore you
Ask in writing for erasure under Section 12 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and send it to the grievance officer named in their own privacy policy. Keep the date — an escalation later rests on when you first asked.
Be aware the Act commences in stages up to May 2027, so a request today asks for voluntary compliance rather than citing a duty already in force. Anyone promising you a guaranteed 90-day deletion is misreading the law.

How do I delete my CRED account?
Open the CRED app → More → Support, pick a topic about your account, tap Contact support and ask for the account to be deleted. CRED's privacy policy says deletion requests go through the app's support section.
Why won't CRED delete my account?
CRED's privacy policy says it may not delete an account while there is an outstanding dispute, a credit product taken through CRED, a transaction suspected to be fraudulent, an unresolved claim, a CRED Wallet balance or an outstanding CRED Cash loan. Once the obstacle is resolved, it says the data is deleted.
Can I delete my CRED transaction history?
CRED's privacy policy describes no way to delete individual transactions. Deleting the account erases statement particulars along with your profile, card and reward data, but CRED says it may keep information it needs for regulatory compliance, fraud prevention and its legal obligations.
Can I deactivate CRED instead of deleting it?
Yes. CRED's privacy policy offers deactivation, which it calls archival: it blocks access to the app until you ask to reactivate by writing to support@cred.club.
What if CRED ignores my request?
Section 12 of India's DPDP Act 2023 covers correction and erasure, and Rule 14(3) of the DPDP Rules 2025 caps the response period a fiduciary publishes for grievances. The Act commences in stages up to May 2027, so a request now asks for voluntary compliance and records the date you asked — which is what an escalation later rests on.
