How to delete your Jio account and remove your data
The route below is the best one we know of for Jio. It is not confirmed against their own published policy. We rate it Hard difficulty. If it does not work, the DPDP route is underneath.

Deleting the account is not the same as deleting the data
Jio’s own privacy policy, which we read on 2026-06-22, says it may still do the following. Closing your account does not by itself withdraw your consent to these:
- build an advertising profile of you
- share your data with partners
- keep your records long-term
If they ignore you
Ask in writing for erasure under Section 12 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and send it to the grievance officer named in their own privacy policy. Keep the date — an escalation later rests on when you first asked.
Be aware the Act commences in stages up to May 2027, so a request today asks for voluntary compliance rather than citing a duty already in force. Anyone promising you a guaranteed 90-day deletion is misreading the law.

How do I delete my Jio account?

Will deleting my Jio account remove my data?
Not necessarily. Deleting an account closes your login; it does not always erase the records held about you, and it does not withdraw consent for uses the company declared in its policy. Ask for erasure explicitly.
What if Jio ignores my request?
Section 12 of India's DPDP Act 2023 covers correction and erasure, and Rule 14(3) of the DPDP Rules 2025 caps the response period a fiduciary publishes for grievances. The Act commences in stages up to May 2027, so a request now asks for voluntary compliance and records the date you asked — which is what an escalation later rests on.
