None of these five publishes a self-serve "delete partner account" button on a page we could check, although each partner app tells Google Play that you can request deletion. So: settle your payouts and download your earnings records, then ask through help or support in the partner app. If that goes nowhere, email the address in the company's own privacy policy (listed below) asking for the account to be closed and your data erased. Expect some records to be kept: each company says it holds on to some data for legal, tax, fraud or dispute reasons.
A partner or captain account holds far more than a customer account: your Aadhaar or other ID, PAN, driving licence, bank account, vehicle papers, selfies for face checks and months of live location. Uninstalling the app deletes none of it. Here is what each company says it collects, where to ask, and what it says it keeps.
What each company says it holds about partners
| App | What its own policy or Play listing says it collects |
|---|---|
| Swiggy and Instamart Delivery Partner | Photographs, phone, name, PAN, Aadhaar or Voter ID, driving licence, bank details, location (including in the background), gender, vehicle type, home address, blood group, nominee, spouse or emergency contacts |
| Rapido Captain | Location, profile photo, call and SMS details, Aadhaar, PAN, licence, vehicle papers (RC, permit, fitness, insurance, PUC), selfies to verify identity, background checks (including criminal records where the law allows), other apps on your phone for fraud checks |
| Porter Driver Partner | Location, profile photo, ID documents (KYC), vehicle papers, bank account, utility bills, RC, driving licence, call and SMS details, background checks, other apps on your phone for fraud checks, and your contacts if you join the referral programme |
| Blinkit Delivery Partner | Its Play listing declares name, address, phone, payment info, files and documents, photos, precise location, device IDs and installed apps. The privacy policy it links to is Blinkit's general one and doesn't list partner data separately. |
| Zepto Delivery Partner | Its Play listing declares email, photos, payment info and in-app search history. The privacy notice it links to is Zepto's customer notice and doesn't list partner data separately. |
How to close the account
Settle up and save your records first
Clear any pending payout or dues, and download or screenshot your earnings statements and any tax documents the app shows. You may need them for your income tax return, and you may lose access once the account is closed.
Ask inside the partner app
Google Play requires apps that let you create an account to offer an in-app way to request deletion and a web link for it. All five partner apps say on Google Play that you can request deletion. None of them publishes the in-app path on a public page, so look in the app's Help, Support or Profile section and raise a ticket asking to close the account and delete your data. Note the ticket number.
Then write to the address in the privacy policy
If the app has no option or support doesn't act, email the address below. Write from the email or number registered on your partner account, and include your partner ID.
| App | Where its policy says to ask | What it says it keeps |
|---|---|---|
| Swiggy and Instamart Delivery Partner | support@swiggy.in (both partner-app privacy policies) | Says a deletion or withdrawal request takes effect within 5 business days, after which it won't use your data unless needed to comply with legal obligations |
| Rapido Captain | Grievance officer: nodalofficer@rapido.bike | Keeps some information, including location, trip and transaction history, for 180 days after the account ends, then deletes or anonymises it |
| Porter Driver Partner | itgo@theporter.in (also the grievance officer) | May keep location, trip and transaction history where legally or operationally required, and data for safety, fraud prevention and legal compliance |
| Blinkit Delivery Partner | Data Protection Officer: privacy@blinkit.com | Backups may remain for recovery, enforcing legal rights and fraud or risk purposes; applicant information may be kept for administrative purposes |
| Zepto Delivery Partner | Grievance officer: legal@zepto.com | May keep information to prevent fraud or abuse and for legal claims, and for as long as the law requires |
What to write
A request you can copy
"I worked as a [delivery partner / captain] on your platform. Partner ID: [ID]. Registered mobile: [number]. Please close my partner account and erase my personal data, including identity documents, selfies and face-verification images, bank details, location history and contacts, under section 12 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and stop using my data under section 6(4). Where a law requires you to keep a record, please tell me which records you are keeping, under which law, and for how long. Please confirm in writing."
Our free DPDP notice generator drafts this from a short form; you send it from your own inbox.
What the law gets you, honestly
The DPDP Act 2023 gives you a right to ask for erasure (section 12) and to withdraw consent (section 6(4)). Both sit in the part of the Act that becomes enforceable on 14 May 2027, so today a request asks for voluntary compliance and puts a date on record. Even then, the Act lets a company keep data where retention is necessary for compliance with another law. For a gig worker, that can include payout and tax records and records of fraud or disputes. The strongest case for erasure is data no law requires them to keep, such as selfies, phone contacts and old location history, and copies of documents once any legal retention period has passed. Ask them to tell you what they are keeping and why.
