Search your name/number on justdial.com to find your listing, then email JustDial's Grievance Officer requesting deletion of the listing and your number, citing your right to erasure under Section 12 of the DPDP Act 2023. Include the listing URL. Also opt out of lead-sharing to stop the spam calls.
JustDial is one of India's largest local-search directories — and a major reason your phone rings with "loan", "insurance" and "interior designer" pitches. If your number is listed (often as a free business listing you never fully set up), here's how to get it off and quiet the calls.
Why JustDial means spam calls
JustDial's model turns every search into a lead: when someone searches a service, JustDial shares the enquirer's number with several businesses who then call. If your number is listed as a business, you also become a target for competitors, agents and scrapers who harvest the directory.
Step-by-step: remove yourself from JustDial
Find your listing
Search your phone number and your name/business on justdial.com. Copy the exact listing URL — you'll need it in your request.
Email the Grievance Officer
Indian intermediaries must publish a Grievance Officer. Email JustDial (start with care@justdial.com and their published grievance contact) requesting deletion of the listing and your number. State clearly that you are exercising your right to erasure under Section 12 of the DPDP Act 2023, attach the listing URL, and ask for written confirmation.
Opt out of lead-sharing
If you ever registered, log in and disable lead/enquiry sharing and notifications. This stops JustDial passing your number to businesses.
Escalate if ignored
No response in a reasonable time? Send a follow-up referencing grievance redressal (Section 13) and your option to complain to the Data Protection Board. Keep all emails as a record.
