TL;DR / Short Answer

To delete your Sanatan App account, email contact@sanatanapp.in from the address you signed up with and ask for the account and its data to be deleted. The operator is Sanatanapp Private Limited, Noida. Its privacy notice also points you to your account settings, and says nothing is kept beyond three months after termination.

Check which app you have. Several devotional apps share this name. This guide covers the app at package com.duolop.sanatan, the one whose Play listing links to sanatanapp.in.

Uninstalling is not deleting. The app leaves your phone; your account, your name and user ID, and the device identifiers already collected stay with the operator until you ask.

Sanatan App is one of the larger Indian devotional apps on Google Play — its listing showed 10M+ downloads when we checked on 21 September 2026, and it was last updated on 19 August 2026. There is no help-centre article on deleting an account, and no dedicated deletion page on the developer's website, which is why this guide exists. Everything below comes from the operator's own privacy notice, its terms of use and its Play Store listing. Where we could not check something, we say so.

Who actually runs the Sanatan App

This matters before anything else, because you need to write to the company that holds your data, and the name on the store is not the name on the paperwork.

One inconsistency worth knowing about: the two pages give different Noida addresses. The privacy notice lists First Floor, B12, Sector 2, Noida 201301; the terms of use list B6, B7, Fifth Floor, Shree Ram Palace, Atta Market, Noida 201301. Email is the practical route either way, and it is the one both pages point to.

More than one app is called this. Google Play carries several devotional apps with near-identical names, and at least one other is also titled Sanatan App — a much smaller listing from a different developer, with its own privacy policy hosted elsewhere and its own contact address. This guide covers com.duolop.sanatan, the listing that links to sanatanapp.in. Open Play Store → your app → scroll to "App support" and check the website before you send a deletion request anywhere; the contacts are not interchangeable.

What a Sanatan App account holds about you

There are two disclosures here, and they do not say the same thing. Both come from the developer.

The Play Store Data safety section — the short version Google shows on the listing — declares that the app collects only two things: Personal info (name and user IDs) and device or other IDs. It declares that it shares device or other IDs, app activity (app interactions) and app info and performance (crash logs, diagnostics, other performance data) with third parties, for purposes including analytics, personalisation and account management. It also states that data is encrypted in transit and that you can request that data be deleted.

The privacy notice on sanatanapp.in describes a wider set. Its list of personal information covers:

If you have used any photo or AI feature in the app, the second list is the one to go by when you write, and it is worth asking specifically for uploaded images to be deleted along with the account.

How to delete your Sanatan App account

1

Confirm it is this app

Open the Play Store listing for the app installed on your phone and check that the developer website is sanatanapp.in. If it points somewhere else, you have one of the similarly named apps and the contacts below are the wrong ones. Save anything you want to keep from the app first — the privacy notice describes deletion as removal from its active databases, not as an export.

2

Look for the delete option in account settings

The privacy notice's own instruction, if you want to review or terminate your account, is to log in to your account settings and update your user account. Google Play also requires apps that let you create an account to offer an in-app deletion path. We could not confirm where that option sits in the current app, so we won't guess a menu path — check your profile and settings screens. If you find it, use it and screenshot the confirmation. If there is nothing there, go to step 3.

3

Email contact@sanatanapp.in

This is the address published on both the privacy notice and the terms of use, and it is the documented alternative to the in-app route. Send it from the email on your account and include:

  • your name and the email or mobile number you signed up with;
  • a clear request: delete my Sanatan App account and the personal data linked to it, including any images uploaded to AI features;
  • a request to confirm in writing when it's done, and to tell you what they keep and why.

Neither the privacy notice nor the terms names a grievance officer, so there is no second escalation address published. Our free DPDP notice generator drafts this from a short form. You send it from your own inbox.

4

Revoke permissions, then uninstall

Once you have asked, turn off the app's permissions in your phone settings — location in particular, since the privacy notice lists location data — and uninstall it. Uninstalling doesn't delete your account, but it stops the app collecting anything new while the request is processed.

5

Follow up, and keep the thread

The operator doesn't publish a turnaround time for deletion requests, so there is no stated deadline to quote. Reply on the same email thread if you have heard nothing in a couple of weeks, and keep the thread either way. It is your dated record of when you asked, which is the thing that matters if you ever need to escalate.

What Sanatanapp can keep after you delete

The privacy notice gives one genuinely useful outer limit, which many apps don't: it says no purpose in the notice requires it to keep your personal information for longer than three months past the termination of the account.

That sits alongside the usual carve-outs. The same notice says it may keep some information in its files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce its legal terms, or comply with applicable legal requirements. It does not put a number on those.

Two things it does not say: there is no published time limit for acting on your deletion request in the first place, and the notice makes no reference to the DPDP Act or to any Indian data protection law. Asking in writing what is kept, and why, is a fair question and gets you a dated answer.

What the law gets you, honestly. Section 12 of the DPDP Act 2023 gives you a right to correction and erasure of your personal data. The DPDP Rules 2025 bring the Act in over eighteen months, and that right becomes enforceable in May 2027. Section 13, the right to grievance redressal, is in the same tranche. Until then there is no legal deadline for a company to act, and the app's own notice doesn't set one either — so the value of a written request today is the date on it. Its privacy notice sets its own outer limit: no purpose in the notice requires keeping your personal information for longer than three months past the termination of the account. The same notice says it may keep some information for longer to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist investigations, enforce its terms or comply with legal requirements. It does not publish a deadline for acting on the deletion request itself.

No. Uninstalling removes the app from your phone. Your account, your name and user ID, and the device identifiers already collected stay with the operator until you ask for the account to be deleted.

Who runs the Sanatan App?

The Google Play listing for com.duolop.sanatan shows the developer as Sanatan, with its website at sanatanapp.in and its privacy policy on that same site. The privacy notice and terms of use published there name the company as Sanatanapp Private Limited, with an address in Noida. That is who a deletion request goes to.

Is there more than one app called Sanatan App?

Yes. Google Play carries several devotional apps with similar names, and at least one other is also titled Sanatan App, published by a different developer with its own privacy policy and its own contact address. This guide covers the one at package com.duolop.sanatan, whose listing links to sanatanapp.in. Check which app is on your phone before you send anything, because the contacts are not interchangeable.

Does the DPDP Act force Sanatan App to delete my data?

Not yet. Section 12 of the DPDP Act 2023 gives you a right to correction and erasure of your personal data, but it sits in the tranche that commences in May 2027 under the phased rollout of the DPDP Rules 2025, so there is no legal deadline today. Section 13, the grievance redressal right, is in the same tranche. For now you rely on the app's own privacy notice, and a dated written request is what any later complaint would rest on.
